its been out for a long time but the megabass Kanata is a rave bait now more than ever since the Bassmaster tournament on Lake Okeechobee. I will admit i brought two of them but out of curiosity and confusion i happened to find some deeper diving ones on a jdm site. i didnt know that they were different until i got them in.
My question to you all is have you ever used it? have you ever had success with it?
what was your set up and if you have used it but found something better as an alternative what is it?
I have used it with some success, with both catching stripers and Largies. I’ve tossed them on my TKIC Super Stallion, Grand Cobra RS, Heartland XH Versatile and The DG Destruction.
Solid bait, casts nicely, fairly erratic on the retrieve. What other questions might you have, brother?
It’s an upsize jerkbait. Solid prowling shallows. Some MB factory hardware is questionable in my experience, but Kanata is solid enough out the box. It’s not as erratic as MB’s own 110 though, many tech won’t see similar results. But it does respond nicely, better actually, to offset manipulation. Tip guidance, specifically. Personally, I add a touch of lead to slow the float, like it better that way.
