I guess one my hold-over habits from tournament angling of sticking with one brand of rods or reels.  Less so with reels because of gear ratios, handle lengths and the like.  Which leads to my point, do try and stick with one or maybe two brands of rods or do you mix and match?

Honestly, I prefer sticking with one brand because you can begin to feel the actions, tapers, idiosyncracies of each.  I am trying to stick with either RAID Japan OR Daiwa.  Each has it's pros and cons but every time I think I've made a decision, the cascade begins to flow.

Variety is the spice of life. Unless I was sponsored by a company who had rods I really enjoyed I would never limit myself to just one brand or 2. I have rods from probably over 10 different brands:

Megabass

Raid

G loomis

Luxxe

Sedition

Evergreen

Custom builds

Phoenix

Fenwick

Majorcraft

etc…

I think you already know my answer to this one. In general, I just prefer a wide variety…always have. I do have certain brands/manufacturers that I lean a little bit more heavily towards than others, but I’ve never been brand-loyal. I’ve discovered over many years of trying different things that pretty much every manufacturer has/have had products within their lineups that shine and products that don’t. Meaning, some rods within a particular series definitely stand out while others will fall short in terms of expectations and performance.

I have yet to come across one brand that has produced a series that fit all of my needs. Not to mention, there are just so many good options out there and so little time. I believe, if you broaden your horizons, you’ll definitely expose yourself to some of the incredible offerings that are out there.

Something more important to note is that if a rod doesn’t meet your expectations while using it for specific applications, I always have and will continue to strongly suggest you try it for something outside the box.
