What a great read!! Yeah I totally get the sentiment, admittedly even I used to look at MIC blanks and avoid buying them. In the recent years they really have caught up, there are MIC blanks that are amazing now.
This rod sounds exactly like the thing I need, I’m a big power finesse guy and this sounds like that kind of rod. The only issue being that it is quite specific in its techniques and as a shore angler I cannot bring too many rods. Hyper versatile stuff sits better with me. Sounds great for the kayak though!
Raid stuff in general has performed well for me, whether their rods or lures. I don’t have a Maximum but the lower end Antis are great. Especially since I don’t have to care as much if they get damaged as it doesn’t cost much to replace them.
Just because a blank is "MIC", doesn't indicate that it's not 💯 designed by and manufactured to the exact specs of the Japanese company. Also, some are final assembly in the PRC.
@hkbasser I surely don’t want you to be discouraged from trying one out. I think it would be versatile enough for you to utilize from shore. It will also work well for some topwater duties, probably pretty decent for small spinner baits, and definitely a great weapon to have on the yak.
Bravo!! This is my type of read, I loved it. Like a lie detector at OJ’s trial? More filler than a gas station Burrito? Perfect... If I wasn't so set on my taste, which is decidedly fresh btw, I'd be buying one of these bastards super quick. It sounds like a fun stick.
