I was pretty regularly ordering rods/reels/tackle from Japan

Has anyone been brave enough to order with the current tariff situation? I’ve heard second hand of some unfortunate charges people have received

I have an itch for a new rod 🫠

The tariffs are a big hit compared to what you guys in the US started with.  But even with the tariffs you are still paying less than us Canadians.  I'd say go for it.  You might be paying anywhere from 10-15 percent more in reality, compared to our 20 most of the time.

FWIW, Digitaka has been covering about 10% which is ~ half...be wary of unscrupulous shipping services and their ghost charges.  A good buddy of mine has had charges of nearly $300 on a Poison Adrena and another at $150 on a Jackall Revoltage II, sent to him from UPS.  After he reached out to JLS, the charge on the Jackall magically dropped to $29.

UPS hit me with an addition $75 charge for storage

It definitely depends on where are you buying from and which carrier you’re going to use to transport everything over here. At all costs avoid UPS. I learned the hard way early on in this whole fiasco. Anticipate getting hit with 15% plus whatever shipping costs/duties are applicable.
