For my dad’s 73rd birthday a buddy and I surprised my dad with a little half day trip up north of here to a do a little bass fishing. The night before we got blasted with a bad storm and the rain muddied the waters reducing the clarity to about a foot or so of visibility. Later that day we had more storms scheduled so conditions were both post front and pre front for the incoming storm.
We fished for 4.5 hours before other obligations called us away but we managed to scratch out a few fish. Buddy had a bit of a rough go with just one fish caught on a darksleeper. Dad got 6 total between 13 and 17 inches. All of his fish came on a 7 foot Heavy Luxxe Oltre, Steez LTD 105 and Texas rigged 3.2 inch bellows gill. I did my damage with a weightless Keitech Camaro glide craw on the Sedition Cristobal and Steez LTD SV TW with the ZPI M spool. I had 3 total fish for the day. One was 13, one was 16.5 and one was just over 19 but like all the other fish just build thick and healthy. The Cristobal was stressed a bit trying to move the fish away from the submergent and emergent weeds. While the fishing was tough and a bit tough to pattern we were just happy to get out and enjoy the time away.
Enjoy the photos!

And that’s what it’s all about. Absolutely beautiful stuff, brother. Congrats on that tank!
