Hey Sorry for the delay

I will post this evening when I get home

but I will say that I just Ran across this video which was surprising

https://www.google.com/gasearch?q=2025%20anatares%20broke%20&source=sh/x/gs/m2/5#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:8bb48263,vid:JrsALYKLnRs,st:0

Yeppers...that's part and parcel to all micro gearing designs...this was brought up by many peeps in the RC racing field and Musky forums (many years ago when Shimano MM was introduced) as to why they would not choose MM designs for hard torque/heavy work.  The first 2012 Antares HG I picked up has a tiny "click" in the exact same spot during rotation, it's definitely due to a gear tooth/teeth damage.  I already have an extra set on hand.  My second 2012 Antares HG gears are still good, but that reel was seldom used by the original owner....I'll swap in the lower 5.6 set into it eventually since that big diameter spool with still pull almost 26 IPTs with the 5.6.

FWIW, in my hands, my 2019 Morethan both with the original 8.6 C6191 or duralumin Zillion 8.5 gears, has more cranking power than the 2012 Antares HG 7.4.

My nickel's worth.

anyone else get one?

the more I use it the more i love it even more than the Daiwa Z.

More than the “Z”…you’ve got my attention. Why?

Please forgive me as I did not intend on responding many days later, but things really have just be alot however thanks be to God who is above all and has all power and has kept me and the family.

I really wanted to give you a quantitatve  and qualitive response other than my hand gauge or some feel good meter. I will definitely say that after a few trips with the 2025 Antares my mind set was to sell my Daiwa Z without question and without hesitation.

As i have had time to contemplate my response I realized that I have had just about every antares made and to date (with the exception of the DC versions. ) I have the monsterous 2012 with no issues on my dead sword rod. My most favorite the 2019 that i use for both contact and one on a Shimano poison Glorious for jerk baits.

I think the overall factor of why i like the 2025 over the Z is the fact that its more palmable to me and despite forgetting my calipers i can say that the front to rear seems shorter. It is a phenomenal caster and anyone whose casted one would likely say the same. I have had my Z tuned to the max and the shimano is just effortless retrievals and I have thrown some resistance baits with no issue.

Line capacity is not as much as the Z if I am not mistaken but more than you need on the longest of cast. Its really a big bait reel to use larger line diameter but not too big that you want backing. That is a bonus for me because the Z hold so much line that I had to get the PE spool an still it takes a hep of 20LB test.

My initial impressions of the 2025 blew me away and thats not easily done for any reel. I have not had the reel long and cant speak to its longevity but I have not found it lacking any especially when paired with a long rod.
