Went out and was fishing a natural lake that is gin clear. I was in 12 feet of water and couldn't believe what I was seeing on the bottom with my natural eye. Anyway on day one I was getting bite consistently on missile baits finesse worms on 1/8oz weight 5-8 lb test and I also got some on a jerk bait. i went home and regrouped to figure some things out and went back out two days later.
I didnt get a bite at all. NO exaggeration, like not even a sniff on anything
I did find some grass in 17-22' of water which I am super excited about. I threw everything imagiable on the second trip and it was a warming trend. there is nothing in terms of cover except Grass. no wood and I know there are some Christmas trees that have been sunken.
What are current temperatures and what were temperatures the first day you were fishing? Water and air temps, That is….
Weightless senko time...and silent hard baits like the OG floating Rapalas and balsa flat sides. Also, translucent and clear plastic colors more so than shiny or opaque colors.
Also, cloud cover/low light and wind are your friends in such clear waters.

Agree…cinnamon/black flake, Prism Shad and Salt n’ Pepper always do well for me in these conditions for soft plastics. Yamamoto’s baby bass color is also a winner. Neko rig the 5” pro senko thin tail….drag slowly with intermittent pops or shakes.

sorry for the delay,
i dont remember i know it was cold for florida. it was 81 degrees today on a steady warming trend and i was doing work at home. Wife said go fishing but work will be still there tomorrow and so i decided to stay and get all of it done. And if i am being honest after looking at the upcoming weather headed my way i should have went..
Still ill be up for the challenge next weekend.

Most of FL is going into pre-spawn and most of the state is likely already in it. It there is wind and grass, I'm tossing chatters, lipless and spinnerbaits. For really big girls I would have glides and 6-8" soft swims like the Magdraft and 6th Sense Whale rigged up...if you crank, right now the MB BIG M 2.0/4.0/7.5 flat sides should be killer...just match up the water depth.
I have a feeling that if your bass feed a lot on bluegill and golden shiners, that hard swimbaits that mimic these forage fish would also do well. Also, don't forget topwaters and big wakes.
Flipping/pitching jigs and beaver type baits into reeds and cover should also get to the big girls.
Also, it appears that a warming trend after a cold front is usually best for pre-spawn Florida bass.
Good luck brother.
