Does anyone have any input on the 2025 Black Label? This 74H peaks my curiosity for 1/2-1 oz jigs, it's rated for 3/8 - 3 oz and is regular fast tapered, which I assume is moderate-fast in USDM speak? I want a more powerful rod for setting hook on bigger jigs on long casts but don't want a rod that's overly stiff, like the Luxxe Efreet 74XH Fast I used to have that was rated 3/8 - 2.5 oz fast action, but would overpower even 1 oz jigs...I even snapped 17lb FC fluoro on that Efreet on a good hookset at a short distance of 10 yards...I'm trying to avoid the same type taper with this 2025 Black Label 74H.
TIA.
I had the Black Label 7'4" MH and found it to be soft, like the Diffuser we spoke about the other day, more crankbaity than jiggy. The RAID Japan "King Heavy" is the one I should have kept longer for testing than the "Diffuser".
The Steez Real Control 7'4" might be too stiff for your liking, I've been using that for Do Live Sticks (fluke baits) and larger RAID Fish Rollers.

Thanks, Johnny. The BLX or Black Label 74MH was part of the "Limber" series, so yes, it is a moving bait mod-fast rated to about 1 3/8 oz.

Mine was JDM model/series. The "Limber" and the other were different.

I meant to ask you, what exactly are you looking for? A non-broomstick but still powerful jig rod? Something with uber-sensitive not quite extra-fast?

I'm looking for a rod that will fish like the Zenaq B4.5 72 Biwa Special but longer in length and a bit higher weight rating...and lighter in finished weight. Long bombing big single hook baits like jigs and spinnerbaits. The Jackall Revoltage II 7'11" Heavy has me a bit enthralled on the ratings and Jackal's description of the rod.

Okay.
I was trying to find a baseline but I seems to me, you're a lot like me, you'll know it when you find it! Are you 100% Shore Patrol or do you have a boat? Since moving down to SC, I'm basically 100% boat. If I got a new bait I want to try or a couple of casts with a new rod, I'll take a few casts from the shore.
Then there's the heresy of USDM Daiwa, Shimano and horror of horrors, Abu! Good luck!
