I was curious what you guys do to protect your reel feet from scratches and damage while fishing? I came across a product that looks pretty interesting, wondering if anyone has any insights on it?

Nucari Reel Foot Protector:

And then of course there are the Abu Garcia protectors, has anyone had good results with these? If so, what reels/sizes worked good for you?

Blue tape has worked well for me, but I’d be foolish not to give these a shot.

@rise Yeah I have done that for years too. I just can't stand the blue color not matching my setups though! There is also black masking tape that is less of an eye sore, but still not a proper solution. I am trying to place an order for the Nucari ones but pending assistance from 7 Seas Pro Shop.

@blitzdr Nice! I got the Nucari brand, I prefer Japanese markings on my tackle items any day. Hopefully they work as intended, it will be the final piece to many of my setups.

I’ve used similar, they’re hit or miss IMO. Years past I simply made my own out of heat shrink tubing, buy it little larger than foot, cut it to size, slide it on, mini torch it, thumb kneed it contour proper, then cut the end near flush. Works pretty good, the cheap hardware store stuff, not hard to find. And you can get it in several colors if you like.
