I currently use 2016 Zillion and 2017 Steez A baitcasting reels for frog rods. The reels currently have the stock spools. I use braided line for my frog bait fishing. Does SLP Works make a spool designed specifically for braided line for these 2 reels? Will these spools improve the casting performance?

There are some spools that don’t take well to braid and that’s usually pretty clearly stated. I haven’t really had issues with original spools and braid. And a spool might but before changing out the spools I would do spool bearings. You will notice a huge difference. I am a ceramic bearing guy but some stainless is good too. It comes down to preference and fishing style too. But my recommendation would be bearings before a spool upgrade.

To answer your question, there are a lot of options out there.

My suggestion would be to tune the current spools best you can before buying another. Some upgraded bearings (I prefer stainless for froggin) and/or inductor tune will help a good bit.

Are you really struggling to get the distance you need with both of the mentioned reels?

@rise Hello...not really struggling with distance issues, just want to improve on casting performance if possible. Most likely I will change out the spool bearings as most of you have suggested. Now, if I can only find someone who sells really nice stainless bearings for my stock Zillion and Steez A spools I will be all set .....

@blksheepfishing I’m almost certain Ian has em. GWR German-made bearings.

@blksheepfishing

Ian installed a set of GRW bearigs in my Steez Limited SV 105, along with internal polishing and other gear upgrades I procured from Greg...and those bearings are definitely exceptional.
