@polkfish1 I see!…ironically, my brother and his wife are there right now as well. Said that it hasn’t been crazy bad, but it’s preventing them from traveling for the time being. Be safe!!
So…did you do get to fish Biwa at all?

@rise Yes; it really depended on where you were. I have unfortunately a little too much experience with hurricanes in FL, so it has to be pretty close to rattle me. I was pretty far south when it initially hit and at that time I felt some concern. I kept moving north after that just because that was my intended route and it was a weakened tropical storm by then. I managed to enjoy Biwa in all of its glory on a beautiful day, but did not have an opportunity to fish it. I did get to throw plugs at a trout stream north of Kyoto, which was amazing. The stream was quite swollen after intense rains each time. My younger colleague had some success, but I did manage to land anything. I had not been trout fishing in a small stream like that since I was a kid in Colorado. Who knows if those streams I used to fish even exist anymore in CO. Anyway, it brought back some fond memories.
