This match feels just right to me. It's taken a little while for the FL summer to really kick in and it's on now. This will be the ticket to enjoy that heat. This is the 7 foot 4 inch version at 3 oz upper limit of the Phenomenon. You can get the blank made at a variety of limit ranges. FF are easy to communicate with and it's really not a long wait relatively speaking. It's less of an ordeal than a lot of US custom makers IMO. The latest Antares MD DC locked into it like there was a magnet. This one feels right at home in my hands. I'll report back after some exploits.

Fanta-STICK! What power blank did you get? I ended up getting the Max 3oz blank.

I could not agree more. They set a date for me and on that date I received tracking info. Very impressed with them.

Always learning...

What’s the verdict so far? I’m on vacation in Minnesota and hoping you’ve had some time to fish it.

@rise Actually not yet. I went snook fishing with my ID 86 Paraodox that I posted about here right when I got the FF rod in. It was all set up one morning and just decided to try it for bass after getting to know the rod surf fishing. It turns out that I was completely wrong about the length and just size of the rod as a bass fishing tool. I had such a great time with it from swimbaits to chatterbaits, that I have not been able to put that one down. I’ve been intentionally fishing it even when the conditions don’t call for it, which is something I really don’t do. I was planning on actually reporting a little something on that one soon. The phenomenon so far has just been fondled.

Don’t you love it when that happens? Those unexpected gems always seem to pop up when you’ve got something else you’ve been waiting on/excited about. Good times…look forward to hearing your thoughts as I won’t be fishing for a minute.

@polkfish1 I did the same with my Shimano Hard Rocker 8'3" MH spinning. I can toss so many lures and techs with that rod, from poppers to lipless to walking baits and cranks to chatters and Dark Sleepers. Such a fun and versatile rod.
