I purchased this reel a few months ago from BBC and I have discovered the pinion slot is a little worn, so it knocks when cranking under load at mid to high speeds.
The gears are extremely smooth and undamaged otherwise. A new gear set will remedy this issue.. 8.5/10 cosmetics 8/10 mechanical due to the pinion slot wear.
$135 + PP shipped to lower 48, without spool, the rest of the reel is intact. I no longer have the original spool, however I can include a Megabass IP68 spool for $215 shipped.
Just looked at the topic title and answered my first question……left hand…..lol
Yessir, it's a LH. I take it you are looking for a RH retrieve?
A few pics this is the 6.3:1:
Very minimally...I just tore it down for a basic clean of the main gear, pinion, levelwind, and greased back up with a mixture of Abu Silicote and Cals tan. I used a thicker gear oil on the levelwind. It really seems to help minimize the knocking.
I just wiped it down on the outside with a paper towel so there is some paper lint on it, but in the sunshine you can see the very minimal scuff...no bad chips or scrapes anywhere.
That's tape on the reel feet to protect against paint scrapes and chips...easy to remove.
Essentially I am going to replace this reel with an OG Megabass IP68 RH for a bit faster power cranking IPTs. I will swap the IP68 spool into this Steez A and move the modded Steez A HLC mild spool into the IP68.
SOLD.
