Wanted to pose a question in here to any & all other tackle collectors out there.
Anyone that knows me, knows that I’m both a collector and angler. I love fishing high end, obscure tackle as much, if not more, than collecting.
I’ve hoarded rods, reels, baits and lots of other unique fishing-related items along the way. I’ve always collected some of the popular items, but more importantly, I’m a firm believer in collecting items that speak to me. Things I like, not only what the masses like.
That said…what’s rare or special in your eyes?
I’d love to see some items that you guys have acquired along your journeys. Items that speak to you. Items that we don’t see too often. Items that aren’t “popular” amongst the general community, etc. but connect with you somehow.
Rare is one thing, and I have my share of irreplaceable items, but the one I look at every day is this. Not for beauty, but for symbolism it represents. When I saw it, I had to have it, where it sits on my desk permanently. I see it every day. Some reading may notice, I'll leave it at that. And what you see holding is keepsake from my grandpa long past, he introduced fishing to my father years before I was born, they both were instrumental in my, and my brothers, pursuit. This does not symbolize angling to me, but rather lost family and friend. It has earned the spot, ranked #1, so it stays.

I tend to believe in interdimensional and ultra-dimensional transition, matter to energy type thing, and so forth. But I don't want to meddle, won't assume, can't justify attempt at explanation. Sometimes things simply are, as this is, and that's enough. So I show, to tempt thought, much why you asked what you did.

Definitely a reel I like and love for the colors but some people only see the Abu Garcia branding.
Love that one from your collection. I had a lot of fun building my 64 Ltd. I agree on the stigma. Additionally, it’s a tough reel to do justice in pics.
@rise I totally agree. I love that you and I have such unique interpretations of this reel. You blacked it out and I went the opposite way and made it as much chrome and color as I could haha. Yeah, it's a hard reel to photograph well. Each angle makes it look different.
