Had 2 of my Steez handles separated this morning. I guess I need pay a bit more attention, odd thing is, I stopped checking them because there was never a problem! Maybe cold weather?
Yep, contraction of some sort. Also, always good to recheck at the start of the day and about halfway through the day. All day casting , movement of the rod, fighting fish and torquing of the blank can loosen up a 2 piece. It happens on all of mine aside one MB 7'11" Cyber Shootist that I made a permanent 1-piece by forcing the two sections together (as I was trying to get rid of the "gap" between male/female ferrules) lol.
I was considering using a dab of ferrule cement like an added precaution.

Some people use ferrule wax to help with this, but there are detractors that say it also draws and can trap fine particles in the wax and cause abrasion on the ferrules.
I just choose to be cognizant about checking my rod connections at the beginning of the day and a couple of times throughout the day.
