I’m curious about everyone’s favorite cranking stick. There are so many good options out there.

The majority of my crankbait fishing is 3/8 to 1/2 oz, for cranks that run 3-6’ or 8-12’. This is what I currently have in my stable for the 1/4 to 3/4 oz range (I also use these for chatterbaits):

X7 Cyclone

X7 Super Elseil

C40 Elseil

For lighter duty (3/16 - 1/4 oz):

X7 Shading-X

P3 Griffon

For heavier duty (deeper cranks, which I rarely use):

X7 Diablo Fast Move

C40 Diablo

BJ Slow Rolling

P3 Nautilus

I can never seem to have enough crankbaits or cranking sticks…

I had Daiwa Signature Elite Tak Omori 7' for a while, Evergreen Pantera for tight spots, EG Wild Shooter for heavier and deeper.  I've been using RAID Japan for light, medium and some deep.

Very cool, thank you for sharing. I used to own EG Super Cougar and Husky Winder and then just simplified my arsenal a bit since I don’t get out much anymore.

Which RAID modeks are you a fan of? And what is your “go to” for 1/2 oz squarebills? My go-to for squarebills is the X7 Cyclone, which is a fantastic rod. I just wish it was a couple of inches longer.

In my mind, you are our resident “crank fiend”, so this is great info. Would love to hear some elaboration on what you love about those sticks.

You’ve listed some doozies…couple more I’d add to that very solid list.

(BTW, rod length tends to mean less to me unless I’m trying to make long bomb casts)

Jabberwok slant: Smaller square bills

White Python: Mag Cranks (2oz range)

Sedition White Falcon: Sq bills to Cyclones to flat sides.

Varivas/MGW Seventh Fighter Limited: larger mid-runners.

X-7 Destruction: 6-8 XDs, Deep Six and similar

@blitzdr OK.....please don't throw rocks at me. My rod of choice is not a JDM model but a real joy to use and it has helped me win a bunch of money in tournaments. I currently use the G Loomis IMX-PRO crankbait bait rods. The 845C CBR 7 foot medium/heavy rod for all square bill/shallow stuff and some mid depth up to 10/12 feet. The other is the 906C CBR 7.5 foot medium/heavy rod for my deep diving up to 25 feet work. Great rods, nice parabolic action, light weight, and allows complete control of the fish once I have them hooked.
