 Addendum:

I think we tackle junkies are getting more discriminating and educated, the JDM designation isn't enough for most.  And some companies have gone from cutting edge to dull, predicatable and mainstream.

Easy there, no need to pick on Megabass

Was the MB reference directed at me?

I think it's more evolution than death, not even on live support!  Over the past 8 months, I bought 6 RAID Japan rods and a JDM Steez along with a variety of lures and terminal tackle.  Even the stuff I'm selling is half-hearted.

Relocating from the Northeast to South Carolina necessitated a major change in tackle.  It's accelerated learning curve and tackle turnover.  COVID, politics, economic issues have bottle-necked all of it.

The only thing I'm short on is time to hit the water!

COVID, Politics, and the national and Global economy are all intertwined and controlled by those in power.

We fight and survive, evolve and grow, come together and build and nurture our community, regardless.

No worries, sir! I used the JDMFishing.com site twice today to help me remember that I actually already owned two MB Tomahawk casting rods: an OG GTZ Hien circa 2010, and a newer Version Eastern from 2016 (new in rod bag with tags still on the rod bag) so kudos once again for providing such a wonderful resource for the enthusiast community!

On the TP side of the world, I just received yet another JDM BFS rod this afternoon, so I'll be lighting it up over at the TP Group tomorrow with some teaser photos. I'm lightheartedly thinking about comparing/contrasting BFS rods longer than 7'1" as there appears to be a dearth of these longer rods since I started looking at getting into BFS fishing for smallmouth bass in the winter of 2022.

Specifically, comparing the Sedition Cristobal, Keitech F-Spec 762, and the new Designo x HAMA Lure Angle Moment MB-74L/M BFS Rods. I'd have to spend some time with each rod on the water running through a set of standardized lures/techniques and report back to the group about where each rod might fit into a BFS rod collection.

I think it would be fun endeavor and keep me occupied now that I'm fully retired and able to enjoy fishing without the hassles of a demanding career and everything that such a lifestyle entails. I suspect this effort will simply be a vanity project of mine, but this last season using BFS gear instead of spinning gear (first time in 40+ years) has been so enjoyable for that I feel like sharing the enjoyment with the greater TP community is worthy of my labor and time.

Please have a great day!

@city17banner shhhhhh there is no vanity around here come on now....

van·i·ty [ˈvanədē] noun

1. excessive pride in or admiration of one's own appearance or achievements

(nonsense bordering on absurdity in THIS place)

2. the quality of being worthless or futile
(we and our gear rank on THIS planet)
3. a dressing table
(sorry, but you dress on your own time. Side note, Greg, maybe you should make that a new site rule or something? This one could get confusing given some of the lesser educated amongst us. NOT a slight to anyone, let us call it a 'prudent observation' mmmm yeah...)

Since I just put a deposit down on a new 2024 Vexus VXs20 boat build perhaps the phrase isn't "vanity" but rather "passion"? Because I'm in the enviable position of having yet another 1st world problem: have the new 2024 VXs20 built and keeping it along with my 2022 VX20 and 2021 AVX 1980, trading in the VX20 for the new VXs20, or selling/trading the two older boats and "settle" with having only one bass boat for the first time since 1997!

That’s ridiculous… No, you keep all three in case you want to fish three times any given week. Now, once you have seven boats that’s different. Eight would be too many, which only makes sense.

@city17banner

I say find out which boat/boats is a duplicate, that may not provide a notably different feel and usage, and ask yourself if keeping it is worth the extra cost, storage and maintenance hassles, etc.

Also, the 2024 VXs20 may not meet your expectations and supercede the performance of the 2022.

@dragon1 Unfortunately, the older I get the less able I am to maintain two high-end bass boats so I've reluctantly made the decision to sell my AVX 1980 and trade-in my VX20 so I can purchase the new 2024 Vexus VXs20 straight up and not have to worry about having a boat payment in my "twilight" retirement years! LoL

Wise decision my friend.
