Another week, another outing.

Expectations will get you every time and Saturday was proof of that. Definitely expected something different, but that’s fishing and you’d think I’d know better by now. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Half asleep, keep grinding, never quit. First boat in, last boat out and she made us work for it, butt…in the end, gave up the booty.

Challenging, yet rewarding day on the water with my buddy Mark. Had opportunities early on, but didn’t capitalize. Good one came up, tossed my bait and I broke off a couple on the hook-sets with rocks shredding line for both of us. It was a grind, and Mark fished much more cleanly than myself, but as the day went on, we were rewarded for our efforts. A solid afternoon bite made things much better, quick. It was tough to pack it up and leave em chompin, especially when you call out “last cast” and stick one. We put some quality fish in the boat and best 5 were right around 25lbs. Felt good to drive home knowing we’d given it 110% and as always, learned some stuff along the way.

19’ Antares/21 PG 170H/Livre/KDW combo handled the biggest for the day.
Enjoying this combo more than anticipated. Rod has good power, regardless of the slower taper, and as I noticed throughout the day, hook penetration was very good, even at the end of a longer cast.

Unlimited Punch Shot ST/a modded to the gills Black I’ze Personal Order and 002 Ltd spool slingin a 3/16 oz Gika with a creature, was a blast to fish. Line/Lure ratings of the Unlimited rods are what I’d consider a bit on the conservative side. Much more power on tap than it would have you believe from the listed specs. Great sensitivity, especially for a solid tip.

At least one X7 EM/Steez SV TW /KTF Neo slinging T-rigged plastics is always on deck and doing work. She handled a couple of chunks that day.

Mark did damage on multiple combos as well, but his X7 EMs (one with a Steez SV TW and the other with a beautifully modded 21 Zilly on board) handled a majority of his catches.

Even though I was up for almost 38 hours straight…you won’t hear me complain about spending time on the water with solid friends and nice gear. Worth every exhausted moment. It was a good day.
