41K on Plat, up for pre-order, cheaper than I anticipated.
Should be all win. As long as the bearings are worthy of the “HD” badging…but I’ll need one in my life regardless.
So...is this going to be a worthy successor, reincarnated as a more modern Z2020 "lite"?
Bump...how is the Zillion HD doing for y'all that have them?
I can’t speak to the performance or longevity but they are lookers!
Based upon your initial on the water assessment, it is evidently a badass must have all-purpose power reel. Right up my alley, bro!
I found my new 1/2 - 1.25 oz Topwater launcher combo...that Zillion HD + 14lb Sufix Siege + Jackall Poison Adrena 7'0" Heavy Swimbait.
The stock spool launches 1/2+ well, and very controlled, I was on brake setting #4...casts as far as my Zillion Type R, but literally didn't have to use any thumb at the beginning of the cast, and minimally at the end of the cast.
And it required much less casting force...also, this spool also holds a lot of line.

They are great reels. Gotta say Daiwa really stepped up with this Gen of Zillies.
I'm still a bit stupefied by how perfect this combo is for 1/2-1 oz topwaters.
This spool casts as far as my tuned Scorpion 1000XT with HH BFS bearings, tossing a Giant Dog X. It's not as fast RPM wise, but much more controlled. This spool casts as far and maybe a bit farther than the OG TD-ITO type R spool, but with excellent control. I'm running brakes on 4 and only had one fluff up all day casting too hard against a strong crosswind
