After all these years, I’ve still got so much love for the Original Z-pride (ZPI-tuned) Metaniums. Mag Braking profile is great out of the box, and the variants are sexy, IMO. The Black/Gold Ltd and Blue iterations remain in the collection.

@goldrod night and day. Casting is much more dialed in with the mags vs the centri brakes.

How has the gearing durability been vs stock factory?

As @likefisher stated, these reels are so nicely dialed in, it’s not even funny. The only thing I’ve ever wanted to do/have done to them is add swept handles. That’s rare for me…as I’m usually modding anything I can. These leave nothing else to be desired, IMO. One of the GOAT “stock” reels in my book.

Good to hear especially on the MM aluminum gearing.  Perhaps ZPI upgraded the pinion and other bearings along with using better grease and oil on the internals...whatever the case may be, good to hear your Z-Pride has been a durable workhorse.

Finish has also held up very nicely over the years.
