Kind of what I was thinking. With Daiwa using so much red in many of their reels the handle would go well with so many reels from the Gek to the Pixy type R to the IP79.
After some time I finally got around to upgrading a few parts and purchasing a rod from a local friend.
tdz p.o x megabass destroyer evoluzion slant Diablo type II
Forgot to ask what your intended techniques are going to be with it? I’m always curious what other people are using their Diablos for. That rod can do so many things….
@rise i briefly threw some lighter bottom contact baits and a little time with a raid goriller crank which surprisingly felt ok. Excited to try it out at some bigger water. Do you have any experience with the diablo ?
@tilb I do!…I own both slant iterations of the Diablo (EVA and Cork). I’ve tossed everything from bottom contact, to big senkos, topwater and spinnerbaits. It’s a helluva fun stick for roll casting at targets, skipping some heavy-ish baits under dock/overhangs and pitching in close quarters as well. I remember how surprised I was with the sensitivity of the XFTI blank. It doesn’t knock your socks off, but it’s definitely sensitive and powerful enough for those duties if you’re only able to have 2-3 sticks on hand.
