2021 JDM Daiwa Zillion

Im considering a zillion 2020 

was looking to put it on steel xbd og rod. Which is better the jdm or the usdm?
I really haven’t heard or read of any distinguishable differences to help me make the decision. It would be my first tws reel. 

I meant the 2021 zillion 

I’ve had both, I prefer the JDM version. In my small sample of one each (both 8.5 ratio) the JDM model has a little bit better tolerances and is a touch smoother.  If I were flipping or punching I may opt for the usdm brass geared model but so far the aluminum gears in the JDM model have been great.

If you plan to Frog with it, I'd opt for the USDM/brass gears. Just my 2 cents. {black}:wink:

I JUST saw the HD dropping in December

That HD would be a good choice!  Hopefully it’s made in Japan as well like the other JDM zillion.  Guessing by the price it will be.

I saw the price point to be about $450

Lovin' my 2021 JDM Zillions, especially after the "WEB maintenance/tuning cycle" 😎 .

Paired the Zillion SV TW 1000L with the MB FMJ this past weekend for the FMJ's 'maiden voyage' and hooked-up the "big fish" of my club's December tournament.

I'm loving mine. 

 And the fact you can get dress-up parts for them is a plus..

My second HD arrived the other day.  I’ve got the Zillion 10 and the Zillion 1000 JDM version.  These recent Zillion releases are aces!

@rise I agree with this....I've got a couple JDM, but I use them for more open water plastics and jigs.  I have heavier reels for frogging and flipping.  Haven't seen them, but the USDM versions of these reels should fill that bill just fine....
