Did anyone get their hands on the Studio Composite X Backlash paradox 68mh-s? If so you got any good pics? I missed out it sold out fast and looks awesome. I ended up getting the standard version with the matte carbon split grips but wanted the backlash version bad. I spoke to Makita and said they won’t be getting anymore. Here’s a link if anyone wanted to see it.

That finish is beautiful! Is the only difference the grips?

@pkn8 As far as I know it is. I am waiting for mine to arrive, but this model has different grips than the other paradox rods. It’s got a split grip matte finished carbon fiber handle. Even on Studio composite’s website it doesn’t show either handle most are just Eva. It’s a new model for this year so maybe they will put more pics up eventually. I’ll post a pic up when mine comes in.

Well just like a kid at Christmas I ripped the end off that pvc pipe right when I got home. It’s nicer than expected. The carbon handles have a rubberized coating like some of their knobs do. It says regular fast, but it’s actually a true fast rod. It’s a two piece which I assumed, and comes together at the first third of the blank. Ti guides and a nice epoxy job the JDM standard. The blank itself is pretty stout and might make a sweet jig rod. Once I figure which reel I’m gonna put on it I look forward to some time on the water with it. Here’s a pic of the handle section for ya.
