Wanted something a bit heavier for my cranks with the RAID Japan 5/8th oz Gorilla and the O.S.P Blitz Magnum EX-DR and I think I'll try a couple Gancraft  128s just for good measure.

Took it out this morning with the Steez A II, 3 hits, 2 to boat.  2 outta 3 ain't bad, as the poet said.

I was a little worried about the sensitivity and speed of the blank after the USDM Tatula Signature Elite for 3 years and the first fish getting unbuttone almost immediately.  Then I figured, I was a bit chilly, water temp about 50º F, I'll go with it.

New stick worked like a charm with the second 2 bass.

@blitzdr pics, or didn’t happen…

You shouldn’t have a problem with picture size. It’ll allow up to 150 megs to upload. Let me know if you continue to have problems.

Short report regarding EG Wild Shooter and OSP Blitz Magnum EX DR:

I was going to cast about 10 times just to get a feel.  I took 20 because I wanted to get a better idea.

YES it handled the weight and the motion of the bait @ 30' BUT I honestly think a two handed rod would be better.  When I casted the bait two handed, it was much better.

More to come ...

This is good…. Do you believe it actually came close to depth at cast length figure 35yds or so? And cadence to acquire, some lipped dive better slower vs faster sorry to ask. I’m sniffing these but often have current to deal with which drastically alters what I’m looking for is why I ask. Thanks man

Yesterday's exercise was basically Two-Fold:

1.  Casting with a rod with parameters more in line with the bait size/weight.

2.  To get the "feel" of a bait running down to 30'+ depths

As mentioned above, the weight is acceptable.  I just think it should be longer to launch a bait a bit better.  The second is how baits feel at depths I'm not come close to hitting.  My previous depths were 5' or less 80% of the time, maybe down to 10', maybe 12' tops.

It's got me thinking again.

1.  I just might NEED the Zillion TW HD.

2.  I just might NEED brass gears, POSSIBLY.

3.  I just might be better off with lower gear ratio, 7.1:1.

As far as actual depth achieved, I can only say "deep".  The water is relatively clear and it was probably down to -15' BUT that's by reckoning, not actual measuring device.  This was just preliminary.  More research with instruments.
