Gan Craft Dead Sword
I'd love to have a Dead Sword one of these days, I have the R-One now and love it.

It’s my first Gan craft
hoping not to like it but maybe tooo late
had some time with it today
Shaku-One and Dead Sword are wicked users which really says something especially given DS has been around so many years now. It's a timeless construct. I own, and use, four of them. Simply trust the build, it always comes through. And as for Shaku-One my best guess is it will probably follow suit over time. Buddy who ranks in my book once described the build to me as 'Special'. So, I bought one. I don't often figure need of baits it handles though, but when I do it's little more difficult than spreading butter. Fascinating how it erases mass really. They are both well designed. Very well actually and it pleases me you two are fond of them.

I won’t lie to you, I took such a hit that I cooked dinner for the wifey. Full spread, home made mash potatoes, steak and vegetables. 😂
but today was my first time out on the water with this rod. I like the balance of it with my 2012 or 2016 antares. Like I really like the balance of it. I want to actually catch something on a swing bait with it but to me
it has character and I’m getting to know it.
The Shaku has a high rod rating, but I've used it mostly with 4-5oz baits and it fishes very well, the rod sensitivity is incredible too. I'm throwing it with 22lb Sunline -Defier Armillo on a roided Abu Big Shooter Compact 8L And I feel everything. It's got enough to fish a DRT Ghost, but you don't lose anything going down to the 4oz K9.
Every bite I have had has been a landed fish, I have yet to lose a fish on this stick. I can't describe exactly what It is, but it just feels right.

@goldrod cool man. If it's a new stick maybe twist off the end cap and confirm the balancers are snug. And don't shy away from removing one at a time to better understand the blank either. Most folks don't bother with this step, but you should since it helps put things in perspective with respect to performance capability. And by all means don't constrict yourself to only swimbaits. It's a wicked mag topwater stick, prop baits, wakes, walkers, poppers, among other uses. Trust it and you'll be surprised.
@gswimbait yeah, it's the 6-8oz area for me and I agree it offers impressive feedback. No idea how it might actually handle max rating though, I'm not man enough to chuck baits of that size. Gan's do well with hookup ratio, I agree, and I'm not surprised by what you wrote. It's the taper. I'm running 25 tatsu on mine and not at all worried about it. And you running 22 speaks volume to your confidence in it. I understand.
@gswimbait I believe you, I prefer to run light as I can justify myself. Those rare days when it comes out are typically delta and always tough water for me though. Tatsu 25 is low as I personally dare. Especially with the cost of what's always on the other end I'm sure you understand. So, I looked up your reel. I get it, true test 25 is pushing capacity. I can visualize it in hand, the weight difference and relative profile compared to Shrapnel I use is a big difference. Must feel fabulous.
