Observations and conclusion:
I mentioned above the action was similar to Tak Elite Tatula glasstech rod. LC 1.5 DRS DD, Blitz DR, Knuckle LD, MB Vision 110, all bass were hooked in the back of the throat, which I experienced with the Tak rod referenced. This is a low carbon modulus blank. It was "springy" without being mushy.
Yes, it's an expensive MSRP rod BUT we're not just off the turnip truck ...
Bought another C70MH-LM, got it today. I am truly enjoying these rods!
2 C70MH-LM: Crankbaits
1 C73H-SV/ST: Jigs, soft plastics
1 C611MH-SV: Topwaters, jerkbaits
1 S68MH-SV: Soft plastics
So, your designating this a treble hook rod?
It actually did quite well as a JackHammer rod 1/2 oz w/4" RAID trailer. I was quite impressed with the power it had. For the first few seconds, I thought I was into a channel cat, lot of bull-doggin', then the bass took charge with the running and surface work.
The hook pentration power was top-notch, through the top, around the snout and the into the jaw.
Update: Tatula Tak 7' composite vs Steez Real Control 7'
I think I'm going to go back to the Real Control for med/deep cranks. Picked up my first LMB of the season, about 15" with the Tatula. I thought the composite would allow for deeper hooksets BUT in 48ºF water temp, it was lip hooked. I'll use the Tak rod for 2.5 size shallow cranks and the 7' Real Control for med/deep cranks.
