I just put together this bait and tested it. It should allow me to slow roll a smaller paddletail and keep the bait keeled and prevent spinning and twisting line. The dropper weight design is a modified Tokyo rig.

I should be able to slow roll 5-12 feet and have the subtle flash of the Mepps French spinner.

I'm pretty sure that's a 5/16 in order to help keep the bait keeled.  Also, without the spinner, it will keel with a lighter dropper weight.  This is a common setup for the SW guys that slow roll paddletails in heavy current, they use much heavier dropper weights.

Good stuff. Need to add this into the rotation along weed lines, cover, etc.
