One of the most gorgeous OGs...IIRC, the flying IVCB brake arm design in this generation of Ryobis gave brith to the late 1990s Morrum IVCB design as well.

@dragon1 absolutely right. Ryobi was first to the table with the externally adjustable centrifugal braking system.

Such a shame that they went belly up.  I have a late 1980s Ryobi V Spool BC that I picked up just for nostalgia sakes.  Do you recall when Shimano broke their Lew's contract and Ryobi starting making the speed spools for Lew's for a few years?

Lots of history with Ryobi that is fairly obscure and unknown by most fishing peeps.

@dragon1 absolutely…they did so much more for the industry that most know.

I do remember. Was a great time in the industry. I had also just bought my first Bantam Magnumlite/Fightin Rod combo.
