What I would expect from a basic reel cleaning:

- reel broken down entirely

- parts cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner

- parts of concern inspected

- propper oil and grease of friction parts

- reassemble properly

Any upgrades, worn part replacement if available, troubleshooting of issues or special tuning or polishing just adds to it.

I seeing basic cleanings for around $25-40 per reel. Any thing mentioned above just adds to the cost. Being new with no customer base the price needs to be attractive to where people would be willing to roll the dice with you but not so cheap it isn’t worth your time.

Yeah, loaded question for sure. Depends on reel as well. In general, I price in tiers, depending on service(s). General/thorough proper cleaning/lube of internals/externals and spool bearings…and then each service thereafter has its own costs.
A full teardown/cleaning/ultrasonic/re-lube of all bearings/gears/drives, etc. fetches more. Gear swaps, inductor tunes, worm drive bearing upgrades, etc…there’s a lot of variables. I will also charge additional for ultra premium oils and greases (I have a ton of options on hand). Just a few bucks more, but yeah…to cover costs of importing and utilizing higher quality/priced products if someone wants to step it up.

@one-love Yeah there is a lot of details that could make it more costly. If someone brings in a reel that has corrosion, that is a significant amount of extra labor to clean.

Man, that is one serious loaded question. Clean and lube? Like she does? Well, depending on where, time of day, etc, seems reasonable to figure quick 50 spot. Me thinks? Hmm… yeah…

But super tune might delve to custom fab, to which there is no correct answer. Like she says, for the right price she love you long time. And as for what I might define that as? This is a public forum. We don’t discuss such things here.

Doing a little bit of market research, what would you guys be willing to pay for reel service? And can you breakdown what you expect to be done? What do you define as a basic clean, lube and service job? What would you expect to pay for your reel to be super tuned? And what do you define as super tuning?

STUNNING COMBOS! That 103XS is on my unicorn list! 🤣

They are difficult to procure and most peeps won't let them go. I converted the SV103HL in the first set of pics to an 8.0:1 with a gear set from The Tackle Trap, and I also have two 6.3:1 LH gear sets for backups as well.
